Bryan's Story

Today, we are pleased to share a story about one of our students with you. πŸ˜€

Bryan, a 5-year-old boy. He is a Malaysian Chinese who does not speak Mandarin at home and the mom is planning to arrange for her daughter to go to SJKC in Year 1. πŸ‘¦πŸ»

Without an environment for him to learn and speak Mandarin at home, he struggled a bit at the beginning. He can’t read and recognise some of the simple Mandarin words.

He was a bit reluctant to join the class at first, as he had not attended kindergarten before. Thus, he felt strange in a new environment.

After attending our Cutie PIE programme for several months, Bryan is able to participate in the games and activities in class and is able to speak Mandarin more often with the teachers and friends. ☺️

Now, he can say speak some simple sentences like “I like dinosaurs” (ζˆ‘ε–œζ¬’ζιΎ™)!πŸ¦– and “I love my mom οΌˆζˆ‘ηˆ±ε¦ˆε¦ˆοΌ‰ in Mandarin! πŸ‘©πŸ»β€πŸΌ

The mom is happy with his improvement and learning progress so far, given that he does not have much Mandarin exposure outside of class.πŸ₯°πŸ«°πŸ»

Our main goal is always to ensure that children can learn Mandarin happily and successfully in the most cost-effective way possible. πŸ’ͺ🏻🫢🏻
